Message from the Head of Department
Welcome to the Department of Biosystems Engineering at Malatya Turgut Özal University (MTU).
Our department, established in 2023, is experiencing rapid development with its research laboratories, field areas, and the scientific projects conducted and coordinated by our academic staff.
Values
The Department of Biosystems Engineering places great importance on values that are society-oriented, education- and research-focused, productive, environmentally conscious, modern, innovative, dynamic, continuously improving, participatory, guiding, collaborative, transparent, equitable, fair, reliable, leading, and respected. It aims to ensure satisfaction among all stakeholders within its scope of activity.
Purpose and Objectives
The Department of Biosystems Engineering aims to educate individuals who are equipped with modern and practical knowledge in their field, possess research and problem-solving skills, and have the cultural and communicative competence to lead their environment.
Our mission is to provide quality education, conduct research and practical applications, serve the community responsibly, and contribute to the development of our nation through knowledge generation and dissemination.
The main goals of the Department are:

To ensure that graduates pursue professional careers in biosystems engineering or related fields at national and international levels by using the strong foundation gained through the program,

To prepare graduates to serve successfully in the public or private sectors, meeting the needs of society,

To encourage graduates to continuously improve themselves throughout their professional development,

To cultivate engineers with strong ethical principles, professional responsibility, and a commitment to quality.
Degree Awarded
Graduates who successfully complete all program requirements and pass the internship are awarded a Bachelor’s Degree in Biosystems Engineering, earning the title of Agricultural Engineer.
